Hively is a multi-faceted social services agency whose mission is to strengthen Alameda County families so that everyone in our community can thrive. Our services include: child care referrals for families in the Tri-Valley; child care subsidies for income-eligible families in Alameda county; and a family resource storefront for daily essentials such as food, clothing, and household items. Hively’s holistic services include: parent education classes to support the parent-child bond and early literacy and STEAM learning activities for children. In addition, we provide affordable clinical mental health services for adults and children (accepting Medi-Cal and several major insurance companies while also providing a sliding fee scale option). This past year, we served over 3,000 local families seeking child care referrals and partnered with 1,107 child care providers. We are fueled by our passion for strengthening thousands of families, regardless of ability to pay.

A breast cancer patient’s diagnosis, surgery, treatment, and healing period can be one of the hardest experiences in their lifetime. HERS Breast Cancer Foundation recognizes how challenging the disease can be; to support patients with their post-surgical needs, HERS operates locations in Livermore, Fremont, and San Leandro where compassionate, professional staff members provide consultation, assessment, and fitting services for products that help patients heal both physically and emotionally. Examples of products HERS provides include breast prostheses, pocketed bras, wigs, and compression garments to address lymphedema. Our caring team members also strive to restore our patients’ sense of “HERS” – Hope, Empowerment, Renewal, and Support. Our mission makes HERS unique among post-surgical breast cancer product providers in the San Francisco Bay Area in that our Assistance Program ensure that all individuals, regardless of financial status, have access to our products and services.

Culinary Angels is a nonprofit organization that provides nutrient-rich meals and nutrition education to those actively going through cancer treatment and other serious health challenges. Meals are delivered free of charge throughout the Tri-Valley. Our program believes that caregivers play a critical part in a person’s ability to heal and recover. Therefore we provide meals not only to the recipient but to their caregiver in an effort to support the stress and responsibilities that can often go along with this role. Our volunteers are trained to cook with as many organic ingredients as possible and focus on nutrient-rich, plant-based, seasonal ingredients. Your support will allow us the opportunity to feed more people in need and develop robust educational opportunities so that health, hope, and wellness are sustained.

Fertile GroundWorks works to help improve our neighbors’ food security. We believe that no one in the Tri-Valley should go to bed hungry. Our mission is to “Teach, Grow, Give”. Year round we teach community members how to sustainably grow organic produce for themselves and their neighbors in our main garden and at 13 school gardens. These lessons with our wonderful volunteers help us to grow and give over 23,000 pounds of fresh healthy fruits and vegetables to our local food pantries and community kitchens every year. It takes a community to end food insecurity in that community. Fertile GroundWorks couldn’t do what we do without the help of wonderful people like you and the folks at CHEF. THANK YOU!

The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 to provide local nonprofit organizations with opportunites to meet, collaborate, share resources and stregthen each other as they work to raise community awareness to achieve their missions. TVNPA offers memberships to nonprofits where they enjoy additional programs, reduced fees for seminars and events, and access to a supportive community. Many of the members are direct service providers, including nonprofit organizations, businesses, and consultants.  TVNPA raises funds to provide quarterly grants to nonprofit organizations through the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund, offers access to a reduced-rate interactive co-working space at the CommonPoint Nonprofit Center in North Livermore, and leads the Tri-Valley Anti-Poverty Collaborative.  As a trusted community leader for 8 years, TVNPA has developed a solid network of nonprofits to help bridge the gap in socio-economic disparities and address barriers to care for the most vulnerable in our community.

The DSCBA’s mission is to empower, inspire and support people with Down Syndrome, their families and the community that serves them, while fostering awareness and acceptance in all areas of life. One of our newest programs is a Speech Enrichment program. Communication is a critical building block for relationships, independence, and empowerment. Many of our members are not receiving adequate speech therapy through their school or their health insurance, so we created the Speech Enrichment program to provide quality speech therapy for those children and teens. Members receive an hour a week of therapy either in person or via Zoom, depending on their preference. Donations for Giving Tuesday will help us continue this vital Speech Enrichment program.
