Opportunity in Bloom: Help lives flourish
Opportunity in Bloom
Help lives flourish
April is Autism Awareness Month!
Community Health and Education Foundation (CHEF) is excited to partner with Sunflower Hill to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). During this campaign, CHEF will match every donation by 50%, increasing your impact and helping more individuals thrive—at no extra cost to you.
Sunflower Hill co-develops affordable housing and provides life-skills and enrichment programs that empower adults with I/DD to live with independence, purpose, and connection.
Sunflower Hill’s Garden
Located at Hagemann Ranch in Livermore, Sunflower Hill’s 1-acre garden offers hands-on vocational and life-skills training. This vibrant space creates opportunities for adults with I/DD to socialize, learn, and grow. Last year alone, participants helped donate over 3,800 pounds of organic vegetables, fruits, and herbs to local nonprofit partners, including Tri-Valley Haven, Shepherd’s Gate, Culinary Angels, One Nation Dreamakers, and Open Heart Kitchen.
Sunflower Hill’s Housing
Irby Ranch in Pleasanton, Sunflower Hill’s first residential community, opened in 2020, provides affordable housing for 38 adults with I/DD. It also serves as a welcoming hub for enrichment activities—like cooking and art classes, movie nights, and field trips—open to both residents and the broader I/DD community.
The Future
The need for inclusive, supportive housing continues to grow. Sunflower Hill is currently developing two new residential communities in Dublin and Lafayette, expanding access to safe, stable housing for even more adults with I/DD.
