Helping Adults with I/DD Live More Independently
For more than 35 years, Tri-Valley REACH has provided truly affordable shared housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), helping residents build independence, stability, and a strong sense of belonging.
In a REACH home, residents have a private bedroom and share common spaces in a welcoming setting that feels like any other home in the neighborhood. Residents have opportunities to manage their daily routines, prepare meals, shop for groceries, use public transportation, pursue hobbies, build friendships, and make choices about how they want to live.
For adults with extremely low incomes, affordable housing can make the difference between living independently and remaining in a family household or another living setting. REACH rents are income-based, with residents paying 30% of their monthly income and some rents as low as $350 per month. This helps residents maintain stable housing while having greater financial flexibility to participate in their communities and live life on their own terms.
