Bringing Music Within Reach
Community Health and Education Foundation (CHEF) is pleased to partner with Minding Music to help expand access to music education for children and young musicians throughout the Tri-Valley and surrounding communities. During the Opening Doors campaign, CHEF will match every donation at 50%—so a $100 gift becomes $150 in support for Minding Music. CHEF also covers all administrative and processing fees, allowing your donation and the full match to go directly toward making music education more accessible to children who need it most.
Making Music Education More Accessible
Minding Music is a needs-based music scholarship program in East Alameda County that aims to provide financial support to young musicians ages 5–18 as they receive instruction on the musical instrument of their choice. The program helps young musicians build skills, confidence, and a lifelong connection to music.
Creating Opportunity Through Music
Minding Music has been helping children in East Alameda County for 30 years through the Music Teachers Association of California, Alameda East Branch, under the name of Blankenship. Now, as an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), it serves children who face learning disorders, physical disabilities, and financial disadvantages.
Students are paired with wonderful music teachers who help them develop musicality and a sense of musical accomplishment. Minding Music opens doors to music training for children and families who face these barriers to access.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 from the community. Through CHEF’s 50% matching campaign, that will become $15,000 in support of Minding Music.
Every donation is matched by 50%, meaning a $100 gift becomes $150. Your generosity has an even greater impact, helping provide meaningful experiences and support for more children and families affected by learning disorders, physical disabilities, or financial disadvantages.
All funds raised through this campaign will directly support children and families from the Tri-Valley community and beyond. CHEF also covers all administrative and processing fees, so your donation, plus the 50% match, goes directly to supporting Minding Music.
