This Giving Tuesday week, your generosity can spark incredible change!
The Community Health and Education Foundation (CHEF) is proud to amplify your impact by matching $1 for every $2 donated—up to $5,000 per nonprofit—for ten amazing organizations serving the Tri-Valley.
Take a moment to explore the inspiring nonprofits on our page.
Each of these 10 local nonprofits is driving meaningful, lasting impact in our community. With your support, they can achieve even more. By donating to one or multiple organizations, you ensure that every dollar goes directly to these transformative programs—thanks to CHEF covering all administrative and credit card fees. Your generosity has the power to inspire hope, foster healing, and open doors to new opportunities for those in need. Together, let’s build a stronger community and create a brighter, more promising future for all.

At Culinary Angels, every donation goes directly toward nourishing the bodies and spirits of cancer patients in our community, completely free of charge.
Your support enables us to provide fresh, organic, and nutrient-rich meals, lovingly crafted by our dedicated volunteers. Each meal is carefully prepared to bring comfort and healing to those facing the challenges of cancer, offering both nourishment and emotional support to our recipients and their families.
Thanks to your generosity, we can continue delivering these weekly meals at no cost to patients. Every dollar donated helps cover the expenses of ingredients, meal preparation, and delivery, ensuring that our recipients feel cared for and supported during a difficult time.
Join us in our mission to make a meaningful impact, one meal at a time, entirely free of charge to those who need it most.

The DSCBA’s mission is to empower, inspire and support people with Down Syndrome, their families and the community that serves them, while fostering awareness and acceptance in all areas of life.
The DSCBA’s Family Support Program provides support and guidance for families from prenatal diagnosis through adulthood. Included in the program are welcome baskets for families with new babies, welcome packets for new members of all ages, educational workshops, presentations by special speakers covering a range of topics, and monthly connection group meetings.
DSCBA offers a variety of monthly in-person and virtual Connection meetings for members, including meetings for early connection, grandparent support, Spanish-speaking families, moms, dads, and more. These meetings offer opportunities for families to meet with those who have similar interests and are seeking peer support and are a safe, confidential place to talk, listen, and learn about issues we may have in common with others. As a result of connections made in these settings, many members experience lifelong friendships, support, and understanding and gain powerful knowledge that leads to success for their loved one with Down Syndrome, the family, and the community at large.

Fertile GroundWorks is making a difference in our community by sharing produce from our garden with local food pantries, educating local backyard farmers, and supporting 26 school and community gardens. Thanks to your help and 1,200 volunteers, we’ve donated over 24,000 pounds of food so far in 2024!
This year, your support also allowed us to plant 49 new fruit trees and shrubs in our “wish garden” expansion. These plants added 28 produce varieties that were requested by the clients of our food pantry partners.
In 2025, we’re expanding to grow even more. We plan to add 5,000 sq. ft. of growing space, including a special section of California native food crops inspired by the Ohlone tribes to connect our youth to local history.
This Giving Tuesday, your generosity will fund irrigation, seeds, plants, and staff to make it happen. Thank you for growing with us!
