A NIGHT IN PARIS
MARCH-APRIL 2024
Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council (PCAC) encourages, supports, and promotes the arts in Pleasanton schools and the local community and creates an environment where residents can pursue and enjoy a wide range of cultural arts opportunities.
Please join PCAC in our efforts to continue a 44-year history of creating programs and events for students, families, and the community that enrich our lives and spirits. For 27 years, PCAC has organized and presented the Youth Excellence in Arts (YEA!) Awards for high school students to help celebrate their outstanding achievement in Music, Literary and Visual Arts. Over the years PCAC has given grants to schools and classrooms, provided art instruction in classrooms and helped fund the return of the orchestra program to elementary schools. Two recent student programs created by PCAC were “Native Art; Past and Present Voices” for elementary-aged students to learn about the local Ohlone culture, incorporating art, history, and science into the curriculum. Another project called “Conversation Banners for Youth Engagement” had students at all grade levels engage in a positive creative process to paint large banners representing their interests and their groups. Improving connections, communication, and mental well-being were important elements of this project.
By supporting PCAC’s campaign, you are recognizing the importance that the Arts play in our lives and how the Arts reflect our humanity and create stronger connections we have with one another.
