Children Should be Seen and Heard
Matched in May
Community Health and Education Foundation (CHEF) is excited to partner with East Bay Children’s Law Offices (EBCLO) this May in honor of National Foster Care Month—working together to ensure that every child in foster care is seen, heard, and supported.
“Children should be seen and heard” is not just a motto to us–it’s at the very core of EBCLO’s advocacy. As is true for any lawyer, listening to your client’s goal is critical. But when you represent kids, it takes so much more: it’s listening to their words and their actions, the context of their family, their community and culture, their long-term goals, and their short-term needs.
Children need to know their voices will be heard in the decisions that shape their lives and that the justice system values them, values their families and prioritizes their futures.
May is National Foster Care Month
East Bay Children’s Law Offices provides holistic and multi-disciplinary legal representation to children in Alameda County’s child welfare system. During National Foster Care Month, we invite you to invest in empowering youth. Together we can help kids leave the foster care system by safely reuniting with their families. Or by finding another permanent caregiver through legal guardianship or adoption. And while they are in foster care, your support means we can make sure that children have what they need to thrive.
It’s Matched in May . . . with CHEF’s matching funds, your investment goes even further!
Every dollar donated is matched by 50% and CHEF covers all administrative and processing fees. That means 100% of your gift directly benefits children and youth.
