HOPE CAMPAIGN

Community Health and Education Foundation (CHEF) will match an additional 1 dollar (up to $5,000) for every 2 dollars (up to $10,000) donated in support of the following local non-profit organization.

CHEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All grants and charitable contributions are tax-deductible.

The Livermore-Amador Symphony is the only full-size symphony in the Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, and Pleasanton area to present classical music concerts and outreach programs to the local public schools.  The Symphony presents musical programs of cultural and educational value for the benefit of the community and to encourage, stimulate, and support community interest in the musical arts. The Symphony was established 60 years ago as a volunteer community orchestra with professional leadership.

The Symphony annually gives four classical concerts in the Bankhead Theater and one Pops Concert. Our programs also encourage, train, and recognize music talent in our youth through their participation in the Symphony Youth Competition, the summer Youth Orchestra for middle school through college-age students, and Awards for high school seniors who excel in music and the communities in the Tri-Valley.  The Symphony provides outreach assemblies which are given at a range of elementary schools, including lower-income, minority schools.

This year we are presenting three concerts in partnership with the East Bay Holocaust Education Center, called “Violins of Hope, Strings of the Holocaust”. We are asking for help funding this important event that will keep alive the history of the Jewish Holocaust.
